Position Summary

The College of Business Administration at Central Michigan University invites applications for a part-time entrepreneurship faculty member to begin service at the rank of Lecturer I, beginning August 20, 2018.

Position is expected to teach two sections of ENT 221 (Marketing Strategies for Entrepreneurs) per semester. Courses are expected to be face-to-face.

Required Qualifications

The successful candidate must have a masters degree (or higher) in business, marketing or entrepreneurship.

He/she must also have IP, SA, SP, or PA status under AACSB Standards. CMU’s guidelines for obtaining and maintaining IP, SA, SP or PA status are found here.

A successful candidate must also be an active entrepreneur (demonstrated by having sustained and significant activities within the field of entrepreneurship).

He/she will also be familiar with Michigan’s Entrepreneurial Ecosystem and have experience advising student entrepreneurs.

Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.

Preferred Qualifications

The preferred candidate has recent experience (i) teaching at the college level and (ii) advising entrepreneurs on marketing strategies and tactics.

About the Department

The Central Michigan University Board of Trustees approved the development of the Department of Entrepreneurship at their June 24, 2014 meeting, providing an endorsement for the current undergraduate entrepreneurship program, which was established in 1998. In collaboration with the College of Business’s Isabella Bank Institute for Entrepreneurship, the Department of Entrepreneurship provides students with a curriculum and experiential learning opportunities that prepares them to start a business, take over a family-owned business, or work as an intrapreneur in an organization. We offer a major and minor in entrepreneurship. Recently, the Board of Trustees approved the Master in Entrepreneurial Transactions.
