Position Summary

The Assistant Director of Enrollment is responsible for student retention, effective and efficient management of day-to-day operations, and coordination and administration of the programs offered though Global Campus specific to his/her center. This includes delivering excellent customer service to students, faculty, Global Campus staff, Education Service Officers/Sponsors, on-campus departments, and facilities managers as appropriate. Responsible for relationship building and outreach activities.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience that equates to four years.
At least three years of increasingly responsible related work experience (education or office environment).
Ability to work evening and/or weekend hours as necessary.
Effective organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to maintain accurate student and other records.
Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office, email and Internet.
Positive interpersonal skills.
Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) and project a positive image.
Ability to perform the essential functions and requirements of the job.

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with the administration of academic programs in higher education.
Understanding of the philosophy and objectives of extended learning, off-campus instruction, non-traditional programs, career training and development.

Duties & Responsibilities

Responsible for student retention, effective and efficient management of day-to-day operations, and coordination and administration of face- to-face and online programs offered though the University’s off-campus program location. This includes delivering excellent customer service to students, faculty, CMU staff, Education Service Officers/Sponsors, on- campus departments, and facilities managers as appropriate. Responsible for relationship building and outreach activities.
Maintains online events calendar. (40%)
Assists in development and implementation of recruitment programs to recruit prospective undergraduate, transfer, and graduate students for the University.
Manages an assigned recruitment region by actively traveling to local and/or out-of-state high schools, two year colleges, and military base locations to provide admission services to include meetings with counselors, education officers, and prospective students; coordinating alumni-admission functions, attending college fairs, and maintaining regular contact with prospective students, applicants and other key stakeholders.
Represents the University as the undergraduate and graduate recruitment representative in assigned region as well as create and implement recruitment and outreach plans for those areas. Develops comprehensive plans for travel and outreach based on the University strategy of recruiting a highly diverse and talented applicant pool.
Facilitates meeting, workshops and special events to promote the University’s admissions recruitment plan.
Meets assigned enrollment region recruiting goals.
Responsible for planning, development, execution and evaluation of recruitment and outreach programs to support the University’s mission in the assigned territory.
Represents CMU in assigned region at recruitment events, education fairs, trade shows, and other events.
Tracks inquiries and prospects, including regular and personal follow- up, to maximize conversion rate from prospect to applicant.
Develops partnerships with corporate and nonprofit organizations as a way to secure student enrollments and professional relationships. Strengthen existing partnerships, in part, by informing partners on a regular basis the University’s status, community commitments, new degree programs, and professional services. Regular visits to the organizations are expected.
Assists the regional manager in preparing an annual plan for local market recruitment and community outreach.
Assists in the development and ongoing effective use of non-paid social media by the one CMU campus. Maintains local social media venues.
Utilizes tracking and measurement tools to monitor plan activity and results.
Monitors brand compliance and manages the University’s local centers application of brand standards.
Assists the regional manager in planning, coordinating and implementing public relations activities to promote local CMU events, personnel, and a positive image of the University and local brand.
Works in collaboration with Central Michigan University’s UComm for potential media stories.
Makes presentations on behalf of the University to a variety of small, large and diverse groups.
Uncovers solutions to issues facing the college or organization and identifies ways to market CMU programs and channels more effectively to our target population and implement those solutions through specific outreach strategies.
Develops and strengthens relationships with local University alumni organizations to supplement recruiting efforts in assigned region.
Schedules events and drives qualified inquiries and enrollments via face-to-face interaction with students.
Works collaboratively with regional manager as "feet on the ground" to gather competitive information within region and identify trends.
Serves as the region’s OPM representative in marketing, recruitment, and event coordination.
Develops and establishes visiting school status agreements for military installations around the region.
Serves as the CMU visiting school representative to visiting school status military installations as appropriate. (60%)
