Position Summary

Responsible for managing student training and scheduling for the efficient coordination of production team resources and quality events. This position works collaboratively with student and professional technicians and campus partners to ensure effective delivery of the event experience.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Three years of experience in production services including audio, lighting, staging, and rigging.
Ability to manage students focused on best practices for leadership development.
Detail oriented, articulate, innovative, process oriented, and creative.
Willingness to work varied hours due to production schedule.
Positive and dynamic with excellent interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and strong ability to project a positive attitude.
Able to work long hours, nights, weekends and holidays.
Ability to manage multiple priorities with flexibility to address emerging critical situations.
Ability to work under the pressure of deadlines and in a fast-paced environment.
Computer expertise.
Ability to perform the essential functions of the job.

Preferred Qualifications

Student supervisory experience.
Experience in event production in a university setting.
Experience working with conflict resolution.
Ability to identify problems and develop solutions.

Duties & Responsibilities

Consults with both on- and off-campus clients daily in the management of event production.
Provides technical expertise for the creation of production timelines and event assessment reports.
Maintains complex schedules, workflow, bookings, and production crew report.
Assists in recruiting, hiring, training, supervising, scheduling, and assessing 70 student employees, student building managers, and temporary technicians.
Assists in the development of leadership and event training for the production team.
Contributes to the overall success of the department.
Assists in promoting, implementing, and supporting a collaborative training model.
Assists in work schedule assignment and project management.
Reviews work both in-progress and completed.
