Position Summary

The Title IX Investigator will address Title IX complaints and retaliation, con ducting formal investigations, and adjudicating sexual misconduct cases involvi ng students, faculty and staff. The Title IX Investigator will also serve as a resource to members of the university community with questions or concerns rel ated to sexual misconduct and gender-based harassment and discrimination.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree.
At least one year of professional experience conducting formal complaint inves tigations, preferably involving issues of alleged discrimination.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to conv ey relevant information in clearly written reports.
Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively with individuals from underrepresented groups with understanding and sensitivity to issues experienced by individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, and to work on sensiti ve and stressful matters in a professional and confidential manner.
Demonstrated ability to accurately analyze and apply legal and policy standard s to specific factual situations, to handle a significant caseload, manage mult iple deadlines, and maintain detailed records.
Demonstrated commitment to diversity.
Ability to perform the essential functions of the job.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience conducting sexual harassment complaint investigations; overseeing a n adjudicatory process; working in or with institutions of higher education.

Duties & Responsibilities

Performs Title IX investigations from inception to resolution, and draft memor anda and reports related to various steps throughout the process.
Thoroughly review and analyze all allegations of Title IX violations to determ ine appropriate investigatory scope and determine if allegations and preliminar y assessment call for interim remedial measures.
Leads witness interviews, analyzes witness statements, makes credibility asses sments, records findings of fact, and communicates with parties’ and witness’ w hile protecting the independence, integrity, and confidentiality of the investi gation.
Provides on-going updates regarding the status of complaints received and inve stigations in progress to the Executive Director of OCRIE, or designee.
Drafts and presents memoranda of findings and appropriate supporting documenta tion related to the resolution of each matter to the Executive Director of OCRI E, or designee.
Recommends appropriate sanctions in accordance with university policy.
Performs other job duties as assigned.
