Position Summary

Central Michigan University is recruiting for a full-time, twelve month, tenure-track position, at the Associate/Full Professor rank, to serve as the inaugural Program Director for the online completion program in nursing (BSN) within The Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow College of Health Professions. The anticipated salary range is $105,000-$130,000 commensurate with qualifications and experience, plus an administrative stipend for the BSN program director. An attractive benefits package and research support is available. The anticipated start date is May 1, 2018 or an alternative negotiated start date.
The duties and responsibilities of the position include
1. Manages full-time and part-time nursing faculty and appropriate support personnel.
2. Identifies and recruits qualified faculty (full and part-time) for the program.
3. Determines, with faculty input, program policies and procedures and monitors implementation.
4. Coordinates the scheduling of classes with the appropriate university offices.
5. Develops, administers and manages the nursing program budget.
6. Manages nursing curriculum including but not limited to admission, retention and termination standards; curriculum development and evaluation; the assessment of student learning outcomes; and review of appropriate marketing materials such as program flyers, website, and the University Bulletin.
7. Maintains program outcome data for the purpose of program improvement and as required for accreditation/regulatory requirements.
8. Prepares ongoing program/curriculum review reports as required by the university and accreditation/regulatory agencies.
9. Coordinates and submits annual reports and the self-study as required by the accreditation/regulatory agency.
10. Maintains communication and works cooperatively with personnel at off-campus locations as needed.
11. Teaches online courses within the nursing program as required by contract.
12. Conducts scholarly endeavors as required by contract.
13. Serves on institutional committees and involved in service activity as required by contract.
14. Performs other related duties as required for maintaining the nursing program.

Required Qualifications

Doctoral degree in nursing or related field from an accredited institution.
Current active and unencumbered license and/or eligible for license in the State of Michigan.
Three years of full-time administrative/supervisory experience in nursing.
Three years teaching experience in an accredited pre- and/or post-licensure nursing program.
Effective communication skills. Demonstrated commitment to diversity.
Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with national accreditation standards and procedures.
Experience with curriculum development and program evaluation.
Experience with assessment of student learning outcomes.
Experience with alternate instructional delivery system.
Demonstrated research agenda based on published works and/or external funding.
